Earth Day Linky Part 2

I just wanted to remind everyone if they haven't stopped by Sunny Days Earth Linky Party, head on over. There are tons of freebies and I have grabbed quite a few.  I wanted to add a freebie as well.  April is National Poetry month and we have been working on different types of poetry in class.  My kiddos are pretty good at simple 2 line rhymes with word families and they really love acrostic poems. We have done them for our names and animals and now Earth Day.

I set this up in my poetry center.  I have an acrostic template for the words EARTH DAY and one for RECYCLE.  I also created a vocabulary word bank to give them some ideas. I placed them in a sheet protector so that they could write on it with a dry-erase marker.   I put  both templates in one sheet protector so they can just flip over when they finish one.

They can write or rewrite if they make mistakes.  Then if they finish and really like what they have written they can write it down on a regular copy to take home or display in the class.  This saves on paper and also allows for those early finishers to erase and create a different version.
I also placed some Earth Day books in the center to help generate more ideas.

Just click on any picture to download this freebie.

Let me know if this works for your class.
