This is a good one for me because you only need to post one resolution for blogging and one personal resolution.
Blogging
I just need to be a better blogging friend this year. I started out visiting and leaving comments all over the place. Then once I started making products I got busy with that and things started to pile up from there. I need to balance everything out and make time to read blogs and visit some of the newer ones that I just haven't had a chance to do yet.
Personal
This year I need to focus on the health of my family. I have been so busy with working, blogging and surfing that cooking is just not something that takes priority for me. I really want to start eating healthier and planning meals so that when I get home I don't just make peanut butter and jelly for dinner. Honestly I am terrible!!
I love all those crockpot recipes that people talk about, but I have never taken the time to see if I could do it. I want to plan my meals, and at least cook three healthy meals a week. That should leave enough for leftovers right??
If you have any tips for me or great sites I would really appreciate it.
So those are my do-able resolutions, what are yours??
I want to read all about them so go link up with Jen.
Totally agree with the health!! Good luck in 2013!
ReplyDeleteCorinna, you've always been a great blogging buddy! No complaints from me! Good luck with your resolutions and I hope you have a Happy and Healthy New Year!

The crockpot is my favorite way to cook! I HATE cooking. But with the crockpot, I just dump it all in and be on my way, not having to think about it until it is done. My only problem is planning the meals in advance so that I have the ingredients I need.

I love using the crockpot for an easy dinner! I want to try a new recipe for Beef Bourguignon using the crockpot. It isn't a quick one but looks delicious! I love the recipes on A Feast for the Eyes Food Blog.
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet! Who doesn't love a good PB & J??

that's another personal one for me - although it falls more into a "lifestyle change" and just a resolution... sticking to the meal plans!! thanks for linking up friend!

Hi Corinna! I'm right there with you on both of your resolutions. I am so zonked by the time I have worked all day and "worked out" that the last thing I want to do is cook. I've tried to prepare meals ahead for the week on a Sunday evening that way all I have to do is heat them up during the work week. My kiddos favorites are tacos ( so easy to prepare the meat and cut up the veggies ahead of time) and some pasta dishes ( I try to use wheat pasta when I can to make them healthier. I have to say PB and J sandwiches sound fabulous to me. :)

I really like this website http://crockpot365.blogspot.com for slow cooker recipes. I think my favorite is the taco soup! I also like to cook chicken in the slow cooker, shred it and freeze it in 2 cup servings. Then I am much more likely to throw something together when I get home. :) Good luck with your resolutions!
ReplyDeleteI have similar goals too! I will have to say if you menu plan and then go grocery shopping, eating at home and eating healthier is a little easier to do. Although I will admit, sometimes pizza just sounds too good to pass up!

I am like you with the healthy eating, I want to do it, but the time just gets away from me, especially toward the end of the week. My kitchen is so neat and organized on Monday and a wreck on Friday night. Can you relate? I wish you all the best with your great resolutions:)

Well after being on holidays I have lots of resolutions about healthier eating :) you are the best bloggy friend too......always upbeat and kind and funny and you reply to every comment! Makes me feel a little more a part of things since I don't have my own blog. thanks !!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hear you about the cooking! I'm in the same boat (minus the surfing! :0) I really enjoy your blog and seeing all of your beautiful adventures in Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy and prosperous New Year!

I love cooking in the crock pot! I'm terrible about cooking, too, but I love using the crock pot. It is so easy and almost always turns out yummy. I find lots of great crock pot recipes on Pinterest. I also love crockpot365.blogspot.com. YUM. Good luck, and Happy New Year!

It seems to be a universal thing...healthier meals. That's one of my lifestyle changes for 2013. It will also save $$ which makes it a win/win situation. Have you seen the NuWave oven? I'm seriously considering purchasing one of those for my home. It's supposed to cook from frozen to finished in 1/2 the normal time, too! :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings and peace to you and yours in 2013.
