GoNoodle is a site that features fun brain breaks for your class. We all love brain breaks and GoNoodle has such a fantastic choice of activities to choose from!
My kids love them all and beg for a brain break every day. I usually do them around 1:00. That last stretch of the afternoon where everyone gets a little loopy! It is the perfect way to transition from one activity to the next.
I simply log on and choose an activity. Each one lasts from 1-5 minutes. Easy enough to fit in during your day.
I want to share of couple of favorite games of mine. The first is Bodyspell. The name pretty much sums it up. You do your spelling words with your body.
You can put in your weekly spelling words and the game will remember them!
Your students follow along and act out each letter as they spell the word twice. Such great practice for all students because they use 3 modes of learning: kinesthetic, visual and auditory. I would do this one everyday if I could!
How amazing is it that EVERY kid in my class is moving and spelling their words! I heard one student say "Hey every word ends with "ch"! Oh boy! We went over the lesson yesterday. Apparently he didn't get it then, but he does now!
Another game that I really like is Word Jam.
The game teaches a new vocabulary word and the students see it, hear it and act it out.
One of their words was Gobble.
They were so funny gobbling everything! Another favorite word was disgusting. The motion looked like someone getting physically sick. Of course they loved it and added their own sounds to the moves.
I love how the music changes and matches up for each word. Afterward I reviewed the vocabulary with them and asked how we could use them in our conversations. It is wonderful how quickly they put the words into use. So perfect for my ELL students!
They are always giddy and excited when they finish and I just have them go to their seats while we finish with Airtime.
This is a breathing exercise that calms them and teaches geography!
I honestly give GoNoodle the highest of praises for their amazing site and wonderful games. My kids are moving and learning and I get a break too!
There is so much on the site that I urge you to register and start your own account. It's free and fun and it will make you and your students happy!! Speaking of Happy, my kids flip when I play this one:

I love GoNoodle! I've only been using it for a few weeks. We take our brain break to transition from reading to writing. I hadn't found Body Spell or Word Jam... I can't wait to use those!!

Kristin most of the activities are free, but I have a premium membership, so I must have a few more options.
